Terms of Service

A standard service terms structure for Sealbound, presented as a clean technical article so it reads clearly on-site.

Effective date: April 7, 2026

1. Scope

These Terms of Service govern access to and use of Sealbound's websites, credentialing platform, APIs, hosted pages, verification tools, and related services.

By accessing or using the service, you agree to these terms on behalf of yourself or the organization you represent. If you are using the service for a company, institution, or public entity, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization.

2. Account and Workspace Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their accounts, credentials, API keys, and internal access permissions.

  • Keep admin access secure and promptly remove access for users who no longer require it.
  • Use the service only for authorized credentialing and verification activities.
  • Provide accurate implementation, billing, and contact information.
  • Notify Sealbound promptly if you suspect unauthorized access or misuse.

3. Acceptable Use

You may not use the service in a way that is unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, abusive, or technically harmful to the platform or its users.

  • Do not attempt to bypass security controls, rate limits, or authentication systems.
  • Do not upload or issue credentials that infringe rights, violate law, or misrepresent identity, achievement, authority, or accreditation.
  • Do not interfere with service availability, reverse engineer restricted parts of the platform, or use the service to distribute malware or harmful code.

4. Customer Content and Credentials

Customers retain responsibility for the content, legality, accuracy, and authorization of the credentials they issue through the platform.

You grant Sealbound the limited rights necessary to host, process, display, transmit, and verify customer-managed content solely for the purpose of operating the service.

5. Platform Availability and Changes

We work to keep the service available, secure, and technically reliable, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability in all circumstances.

We may update, improve, or modify features, provided that the general service remains materially usable for its intended purpose.

6. Fees and Commercial Terms

Paid plans, transaction-based services, physical credential options, or enterprise agreements may be subject to separate order forms, statements of work, or commercial schedules.

Unless otherwise stated in a signed agreement, fees are due according to the selected plan or invoice terms and are non-refundable except where required by law or explicitly agreed in writing.

7. Intellectual Property

Sealbound and its licensors retain all rights, title, and interest in the platform, software, documentation, branding, and service materials, excluding customer-owned content and branding supplied for white-label use.

No rights are transferred except the limited right to use the service under these terms and any applicable commercial agreement.

8. Confidentiality

Each party may receive non-public business, technical, or operational information from the other. Both parties agree to protect such confidential information with reasonable care and use it only for the purposes of the relationship.

9. Disclaimers

Except as expressly stated in a written agreement, the service is provided on an as-available and as-provided basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sealbound disclaims implied warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sealbound will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages, or for loss of profits, goodwill, data, business opportunity, or anticipated savings.

Where liability cannot be excluded, total liability will be limited to the amounts paid by the customer for the service during the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, unless a different limit is stated in a signed commercial agreement.

11. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate access where necessary to protect the platform, comply with law, address security incidents, or respond to material breaches of these terms.

Customers may stop using the service at any time, subject to any active subscription, implementation, or enterprise agreement already in force.
