How Blockchain
Verification Works
The Sealbound white-label platform uses Polygon blockchain and W3C Verifiable Credentials to make every verified credential instantly verifiable — anywhere in the world, by anyone, in under 3 seconds. Here's how.
Someone receives a Sealbound verified credential through the white-label platform. An employer, a university, or a regulator needs to confirm it's real. Whether it's a digital credential or a Sealbound Phygital Certificate with NFC, here's what happens when they verify.
Scan the QR Code or Tap NFC
Every Sealbound credential has a unique QR code. Scan it with any smartphone camera. If it's a phygital certificate, tap the NFC chip instead. Both methods work without an app.
Blockchain Lookup Happens Instantly
The verification system queries the Polygon blockchain for the Soulbound Token matching this credential. It checks the cryptographic hash, issuer signature, and revocation status — all in under 3 seconds.
Branded Verification Page Opens
The verifier sees a page showing the credential details: recipient, issuer, achievement, date, and a green "Verified" badge linked to the on-chain proof. The page carries the issuer's branding — that's the Sealbound white-label promise.
Four technologies working together to create the most secure credential verification system available.
Polygon (EVM-Compatible)
Every credential is anchored to Polygon as a Soulbound Token. Low gas fees (under $0.50), fast confirmations, and full Ethereum compatibility. Supports 100,000+ credential mints per day.
W3C Decentralized Identifiers
Industry-standard DIDs for secure digital identity. Users control their credentials. Each credential is cryptographically tied to the issuer and recipient through verifiable signatures.
W3C Verifiable Credentials
Industry-standard credential format. Interoperable with other systems. Machine-readable, cryptographically signed, and tied to the issuer's DID. Future-proof against credential standard evolution.
Privacy-by-Design
Zero personal data on-chain. Only cryptographic hashes are recorded on the blockchain. Verification confirms authenticity without exposing names, emails, or any personal information to the verifier.
A centralized database can be hacked, edited, or taken offline. A blockchain record is permanent, public, and independently verifiable — even if Sealbound's servers went offline tomorrow, verified credentials would still be verifiable on Polygon. That's the power of blockchain-backed credentialing.
Every Sealbound verified credential supports multiple verification methods, including Sealbound Phygital Certificate NFC tap-to-verify. The verifier chooses whichever is most convenient.
QR Code Scan
Every credential has a unique QR code. Scan with any phone camera. Verification page opens in the browser. Works on every smartphone.
NFC Tap
Phygital certificates have embedded NXP NFC chips. Tap a phone to the certificate. Verification is instant. No app needed.
Direct Blockchain
Advanced users can verify directly on Polygon block explorer. Every Soulbound Token is publicly visible and independently auditable.
When a credential is issued, Sealbound mints a Soulbound Token on Polygon containing a cryptographic hash. When someone scans the QR code or taps the NFC chip, the system checks this on-chain record and confirms whether the credential is authentic, valid, or revoked — in under 3 seconds.
No. Sealbound stores zero personal data on-chain. Only cryptographic hashes, issuer signatures, and timestamps are recorded. All personal information stays off-chain on encrypted AWS infrastructure in the UAE. This is GDPR-aligned and privacy-by-design.
W3C Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs) are an open standard for creating verifiable digital identities. Sealbound uses the W3C DID standard to create secure identifiers for credential holders and issuers — enabling cryptographic verification that a credential was issued by a specific organization to a specific person.
Yes. Blockchain is borderless. A credential issued in Dubai verifies instantly in New York, London, Tokyo, or anywhere else. All you need is a smartphone and internet connection. Sealbound credentials work in 195 countries.
The on-chain records on Polygon are permanent and independent of Sealbound's servers. Even if Sealbound were completely offline, anyone with technical knowledge could verify a credential directly on the blockchain using the Soulbound Token contract address and token ID.
Sealbound stores zero personal data on the blockchain — only cryptographic hashes. During verification, the system checks only the hash against the on-chain record. The verifier sees only the credential details (issuer, achievement, date) without accessing the holder's personal information.
